A Farm That Grows More Than Crops

Cut River Farm began with a home on land in northern Michigan — a garden, some chickens, and a desire to build something real with our family.

We made it official, growing food, harvesting pine, and creating something tangible from the ground up.

And over time, something else began to grow here.

Ideas.
Direction.
Real-world experience.

What We Believe

We believe education matters.

Our kids are in community college.
One is finishing his electrician certification.
One works at Disney and studies between semesters.
This summer, our son is moving to live and work in Yellowstone National Park.

We are not anti-college.

We simply recognize that not every young adult fits neatly into a four-year university box — especially right out of high school.

There are incredible housing-based programs, seasonal jobs, and real-world opportunities that build confidence, independence, and clarity before long-term commitments are made.

Many families don’t even know these paths exist.

We want them to know.
